Lancôme DreamTone: A review

Lancôme India launched DreamTone in India in the most effective style ever. The first lot handpicked to try and test this product in India before it hit the markets were the bloggers. Yes, its empowering and scary at the same time how powerful we are as a force of media. The product was launched and gifted to us over a wonderful event hosted at the Delhi Lancôme boutique where the make up artist was gracious enough to teach us its application and use.
The DreamTone in India is priced at almost Rs.7000/- for the 40 ml bottle (INR). It is important to keep this in mind because eventually it does come down to an analysis of whether a product delivers in proportion to its MRP. The DreamTone is marketed as a skin tone corrector. In their defence, they make it amply clear that it is not a replacement for a BB or a CC cream.
How it fairs: This Dream Tone skin corrector comes in a highly attractive dark pink bottle with a pump at the top. Easy to use. Light pink liquid that smells heavenly. I am personally, a fan of great smelling products. The cream however is kind of thick. For oily skin tones, this one should be a miss. For combination or dry skin tones, skip the moisturising when you apply this product. Leaves enough oil and moisture on the skin. It produces a light nice glow while covering small imperfections of the skin.
However, this is where the problem arises, in case of bigger skin issues or even bigger marks or dark circles, this product has no effect. Not that I tried to replace this for a foundation or a base. But even on a regular day for some glow and coverage, I would choose a BB cream considering the price point of this product. For me, its a no as far as a purchase of this product goes.
I would reckon it would work well for no or almost negligible skin issues. I would give this one a miss.

I hope this helps. :)
Till the next post,

  2. Thanks for the honest review, Shreya :) Was looking at purchasing it at some point but after quite a few negative reviews and that absurdly large price, I'll skip this.
