Delhi Couture Week-I

The Delhi Couture Week is my first official event coverage in Delhi.  Yes, I have officially relocated to Delhi and Ginger Claps was kind enough to send me over an invite to witness the haute couture collections of some of the greatest designers of the country, being showcased. I chose to attend the first day and needless to say the event kick started with all its grandeur and glory. If the grandiose venues and the star studded guest list wasn’t all, then the Signature lounge experience did really add value to the Couture week feel. The very signature, bold, fun and sexy evening saw two shows. The first one was that of Varun Bahl and if I had to sum up his haute couture collection in two words, I’d say: tres magnifique!  The theme of his collection was India- Nouveau. The applique work, the Indian wear with a twist, the net and tulle saris, the velvet overcoats with heavy embellishments, the saris with the classic embroidery, ombre colored full skirts, extensive use of brocade and bustiers for a modern twist were all highlights of Varun Bahl’s work. The first post here gives you some glimpses into his work, will be posting more on his show with the press pictures and the other show soon.

Don't miss the tasseled beauties from BeSpoke.

More on the Signature Lounge A-listers and the second show on the first day, soon.
XOXO
